A Fresh Look for Captain Bradley, Captain Morse and Captain Snow Cottages at the Harbor View Hotel

Happy Summer 2016!

Here at the Harbor View Hotel we are excited to present three newly renovated cottages that are now available to enjoy this summer season. Local designer Lisa Pyden used her unique vision to create an open and bright feel to the updated guest rooms. Lisa wanted to keep with the historic feel of the hotel, but also introduce a fresh new color palette, putting an elegant twist on a classic beach cottage. You will be excited to see the transformation of the guest rooms into coastal chic living spaces. The cottages are tucked away behind the historic main hotel building, with private decks and pool views.

Rooms in the Captain Bradley Cottage, located closest to the main building, each have one King-sized bed and several are pet-friendly and have porches (by request). The square footage of the cottage is 335.

Our Captain Morse Cottage features a lovely spacious two-bedroom suite with two Queen beds and a comfortable living room boasting a Full-sized sofa bed. Additionally, the Captain Morse Cottage has a full kitchen, complete with stove, oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and coffee-maker, and two full baths (with shower and bathtub, respectively) means this cottage has plenty of space for a family or a group of friends looking for a luxurious Vineyard getaway. The cottage also comes with a private porch, perfect for enjoying a drink and the island weather.

Finally, Lisa’s latest project in partnership with the Harbor View was to renovate the Captain Snow Cottage. This townhouse contains two side by side units each with one King-sized bed, a secondary room with two Twin-sized beds, and two Full-sized sofa beds in the spacious upstairs living room, meaning there is room for the whole gang. A full kitchen, complete with stove, oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and coffee maker gives guests the flexibility of preparing meals at home or allows for guests to entertain friends and family while staying at the Harbor View Hotel. The unit boasts a total of 1200 square feet.

Pirate Adventures on Martha’s Vineyard

Ahoy land-lubbers! This summer, you can join the pirate crew of the Sea Gypsy X on the Island. This new pirate ship allows kids of all ages to sail the high seas plundering for treasure and singing pirate songs.

Once aboard, kids will put together a treasure map to determine the course of the ship, raise the Jolly Roger battle flag and steal back the keys to a treasure chest! After using water cannons to fend off their foes, they will discover where “X” marks the spot for the treasure. In the end, everyone gets a share of the pirate’s booty and they will head back to port with singing, dancing, and drinking pirate grog.

Dedicated to sparking a kid’s imagination, owner Catherine McCarthy (aka Lady Pearl) describes the journey on the Sea Gypsy as an interactive adventure cruise where “kids can be kids,” and families can “let loose together” on a journey of wonder and delight!
